  1. Notice how vague "gender-affirming care" is? What, exactly? Letting every kid who wants to wear makeup wear makeup, etc.? Getting counseling for every kid who needs counseling? Who is against this? Why does any of this require dangerous drugs for minors?

  3.  @jsamadams  Good that you think so. I suggest you do some serious reading on that. Psychiatry has always been fraught with misdiagnoses. It can take a child a year or more before they trust someone enough to confide in them, especially if they fear being blamed for what happened to them, or fear harm will come to themselves or their families if they report what happened. This is a problem for crime victims generally. Do you really not know this?

  5.  @justinmyres3487  Total agreement. The term "gender affirming care" itself is much too vague. If a boy wants to wear a dress and nail polish, let him. If a girl wants to wear a crewcut and play hockey, let her. If they get bullied, protect them. If they need counseling, get them counseling. Where does anyone see an imperative for dangerous drugs or body-altering surgery, or a reason to risk life-long infertility? What for? They are much too young to consent. People at 16 swear they will never get married, at 20 they are sure they don't want children --- and at 34, they meet someone, fall in love, get married, and have their first child. It happens all the time. (Or have we stopped being the land of opportunity?) I say preserve the choice.

  13. @jsamadams  It isn't agreed-upon, not even in the US. Unless gender dysphoria is a wholly different condition in UK, Sweden, France, etc. This is laughable. Remember the SSRI fiasco in teens? It turned out that it can exacerbate suicidal ideation in that age group, and now has black box warnings.
