There were a few hot spots in the world where there were insufficient beds. Literally just a few, such as in Queens -- not New York City as a whole, but only Queens. This did happen, and it did not last long. It was not the vaccines that ended it, as the bed shortage had already subsided before the vaccines were released.

The extra hospital beds rigged up in Chicago were never used. This was in 2020.

We were inundated with pictures of the ONE part of Queens where it was true for a period of time that there were insufficient hospital beds, and led to believe that it would sweep the country. I have never seen anything like this fear-mongering before, and I didn't expect it. I remember when the Financial Times in the UK said that the average age of death from COVID was slightly higher than the average life expectancy. How did people not immediately question what was going on, and demand better information?
