Marianne said several correct things. Robby agreed with the most important part concerning freedom of expression and federal coercion. He knows this subject well, from both sides, as you heard if you listened.

@davet3170 Mostly research contracts . . . You know, like the federal contracts Elon gets, but more productive.

@qwerty6574 I'm referring to this video. I agree those were a grotesque violation of human rights and constitutional rights.

@jagodaszubert2404 Were the students who occupied Hamilton Hall agents of Columbia University? Did Columbia fail to retake the hall? Did Columbia fail to call in armed law enforcement? Were the students who occupied the hall expelled? Would you be held responsible for something your adult child does? Would you become ineligible for any contracts, public or private, based on something your adult child did?

@jagodaszubert2404 Tax dollars were not used for repairs. Tax dollars go to earmarked research grants, and to Pell grants for individual students. The latter can obviously be lifted for criminal conduct, provided a standard of proof is met.

@Dan-yf2df Who did this? Did Columbia fail to punish them? Did it even fail to catch them in the act? If so, you have a point.

It IS Capitol Hill nonsense . . . Well, campaign fundraising, to be precise.

@payleryder45 Who did this? Were they Columbia's agents? Did Columbia protect them? Or, did Columbia give them a hearing, then expel them? Spoiler alert Columbia expelled them. What's the problem?

@jagodaszubert2404 Did you see what the Trump administration demanded? It's unprecedented. It may be illegal, and that is saying a lot. It is much more than a simple decision to contract elsewhere, which is always legal.

@michaelhenry3570 And when did Harvard explode a rocket, un alive a person in a self-driving car, mistreat lab monkeys, or lie about the Social Security system?

@michaelhenry3570 I answered. It's ________ .

@michaelhenry3570 I guess billionaires have each others' backs.

@lisa-ul4vi Who is "they?" I can't see what you're referring to.
1
@lisa-ul4vi Generally, yes. It would depend on the contract. Basic research at major universities done under defense contracts gave rise to the Internet itself.
1
@lisa-ul4vi Do they "all" need to be "more productive?" Do all of Musk's contracts need to be "more productive" than any other, in order to be justified? Why do you set an impossible standard?
