@SlickBlackCadillac People who actually read the opinions in the antitrust case against Microsoft know that. (But since Microsoft went away essentially unpunished, most people imagine it "won.") The cases are fascinating, actually -- the district court case contains a very comprehensive corporate history of Microsoft. It's a good read.

@carmengabriel4 Actually, that is common in vaccine research -- but those people are also supposed to have a PhD, in addition to Vet Med, to do the real research. That was back when vaccines were studied for years in animals first.

@MisterHowzat Are these untrained keyboard warriors in any position to affect global and national health policy? And did they all make a killing in the market? No pun intended. The second question is a joke nevertheless. If they were rich, they would have a seat at the global policy table.

@terrymckenzie8786 Yes, everyone matters. But you do not sacrifice the lives and the health of the young to preserve the old. The old had their chance to be young. Part of the reason the old matter is because of everything they can impart to the young.

@danielcaldwell1110 Agree 100% And we should never engineer policies that pit the old against the young. We are all in this together. Don't create a lifeboat dilemma where it's simple to have enough lifeboats for everyone. Part of the reason we value the elderly is because they have so much to offer to everyone younger.

@goodbook122 It looks like this story was floated as a false flag -- there is no relation, and it's being put out to make people who distrust Gates look bad.

@MisterHowzat Give me a break! Yes, for them to think they know something is ridiculous, but for you to equate them with someone who can and does influence global policy -- and is unqualified, and elected by no one, AND we can do nothing about it -- is absurd. Gates has given no indication in public that he knows anything except how to manipulate others, and he's abnormal in failing to hide his glee over it.
