I don't think her superpower would help.

I can't believe that lazy, obscene clown duped anyone. Which lazy clown, you ask? Why, both candidates for president, of course.

Not America. The financial overlords.

Yeah, you have to force people to take those $100m bonuses. Try 13 Bankers. Or the documentary Inside Job.

Explain the collapse worldwide. How did "government forcing our banks" sink Iceland?

@brendanthornton3527 I suggest that you spend more time studying that. Simon Johnson is a good start. John Lanchester's three-part series in LRB (Citiphilia, etc.) is available online for free. You have memorized a talking point, which is persuasive only because it is very simple, and punches down -- two essential characteristics for 21st century persuasion. Of course, the fact that it is blatantly false is hardly a problem. It may be an additional virtue, given that false talking points do double duty as loyalty tests.

@brendanthornton3527 Check your timeline. Then check your incentives. The legislation you blame was the perfect fig leaf, a gift to the banks allowing them to do exactly as they wanted, and have a ready excuse when it all went south, as they knew it would. Compare, for example: "humanitarian intervention." :) The Frontline series on PBS explains it as well. Give it a try, why don't you?

They will make money in the next crash by shorting the market.

10:38 My immigrant mother used to point this out. It's called having been a refugee in WWII. Let's all get real.
