Most of Europe, and most of the developed and developing world, has tuition-free or nearly tuition-free college. Fees might be about equal to $1000 per year in most of Europe, and usually less.

@AnaLucia-wy2ii A tax cut for a corporation that spends more on lobbying than it pays in taxes, and offshores jobs -- which usually means they "use" services like the Merchant Marines more than you or I do -- is a handout.

Does Bill Maher hire high school graduates? I mean, other than for landscaping or roofing?

@chuckcampbell3927 I know what tuition was in the 1970s. A minimum wage summer job covered a full year of in-state tuition at every major state university. This was the case from the end of WWII until about 1980. I don't know where you went to school. No one I knew ever considered private or out of state -- absent, possibly, a full scholarship.

@chuckcampbell3927 Anyone can look this up.

I understand why Robbie thinks college isn't worth much. He is extremely poorly educated. People who never went to college know what an ADHESION CONTRACT is. Or at least they used to. Now they know how to tend a Twitter persona. Progress!

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

@chuckcampbell3927 Back when that was said, college was within reach for anyone who studied hard and worked full time over the summer, which covered in-state tuition.

@chuckcampbell3927 Yeah, the bankers who brought us 2008-09 were really asking what they could do for their country.

@chuckcampbell3927 Only in America would colleges have a huge side business in a sport that causes concussions in the brains of its students. You could not make this up. It sounds like Soviet agitprop.

This is true.

@Evan_Infinite You are a cool guy.

You clearly didn't go to college. How many students do you think have majors such as Gender Studies? About 1 to 2% of all degrees are in such fields, and they can be pre-law, or lead to a career in advertising or clinical social work, with the right minors or a Master's degree. The most common major BY FAR is Business, and has been for about three decades. Various medical fields come next, with -- yes -- Nursing in the top position. Say, why didn't you find this information on the Internet? Some talking head has you repeating their talking points -- and the money they make will allow them to send their children to a private university. Just watch.

@randallfowler9348 Paris IV (like Aude Lancelin, a superb journalist based in Paris)

@randallfowler9348 Is there some way you could tell? Still carrying water for the people whose kids WILL go to college? Why? Anyone who thinks the Internet is a substitute for college "because feminist dance class" deserved what I said. Wake up.

@randallfowler9348 Paris IV has no tuition. France used to have no tuition for anyone, citizen or resident.

@randallfowler9348 Got any more wrong takes?

@randallfowler9348 I'm a lawyer. And it is never a mistake to go to the University of Paris.
