The POPE?? A conspiracy theorist? 🤣🤣🤣 No one could make this up.

@thehippie3610 Tariq Ali's collection is the single most important collection of essays. Look up Oskar Lafontaine. Look up Le Monde diplomatique from that time. Look up Harold Pinter, Noam Chomsky, Michael Parenti, Alain Badiou, Solzhenitsyn.

@thehippie3610 The Chinese Embassy in Belgrade was bombed. The Chinese mention it derisively now and then. The US claimed an outdated map was to blame.

@Haffa14 Not deserve, no. BJG made good points. Of course Kim, too. Even Robbie. :)

@Haffa14 What proof? We have had proof for eight years. "The rest of the world?" That would be funny were it not pathetic. Most of the NON-Western world openly or tacitly supports Russia.

@Mezzo396 Lots of cities with anti-Milosevic governments in place were bombed with depleted uranium. Montenegro's whole government was opposed to Milosevic and was taking in refugees, but it was bombed anyway. Try again? No, wait. Read Manufacturing Consent. BTW, my attempt to add information, from mainstream sources, and to respond, is being censored, repeatedly. You did not respond to what I was already allowed to say. Also, your timeline is wrong. All of this has been established. Manufacturing Consent in action!

Guess what? If evidence I bring up, from mainstream sources, is censored, then I guess I can't give you more evidence. But the slogan du jour is no problem, it always stays up. Explain how genocide in Kosovo justifies bombing the committed opponents of the government alleged to be carrying out that genocide, with DU no less. And you all know full well about the DU. Bad faith!

@Mezzo396 Then you need to re-read it, it didn't stick. Operative word is "public opinion." I have an idea: look at the map of countries that have refused to recognize independent Kosovo/a. It is highly instructive. Then look up statements many of them have made before various international tribunals. It's a way to exit your bubble. It may serve you during the growing conflicts around the world that are coming. You're just reacting based on the reception Chomsky had in your circle of friends. BTW, I lean toward independence, but the West trashed that situation yet again. Melenchon has some good proposals.

@Mezzo396 "Peace" treaty? That provided for NATO to be stationed anywhere in the country? No one would sign that. And it's not a peace treaty. It's an occupation agreement.

@Mezzo396 "It's all about me and MY truth." This is America, 2022. When is that not the context?
1
@Mezzo396 Okay, let's make it simpler. There is a legitimate debate concerning whether there was a "genocide." By contrast, there is no doubt at all that there were war crimes. If you had studied the issue, you'd know. And this is not just "Chomsky's take."
1
@Mezzo396 I can't frame an argument here without being sen so red. Come off it.
1
@Mezzo396 I though you were saying YOU were stationed there! No, the proposal was that NATO should be allowed to go absolutely anywhere, not just where they charged genocide. Silly me, to think you were an actual veteran of that NATO action. Now I get it.
1
@Mezzo396 No, you told me why NATO says it intervened. Very large difference. Oh, now I'm "rambling on!" Should have blocked you straight away. I will now. Tootles.
1
@Mezzo396 I already blocked you. You've moved on to pure trash talking. Yes, I had thought you might have served in former Yugoslavia. I see how riduculous that idea was. Of course you know nothing about it, first-hand or otherwise. Nor did you read Manufacturing Consent. The charge of "genocide" is a standard ploy, used systematically by America against its designated enemy du jour since the post-WWII period at least. Herman and Chomsky demonstrate that.
1
@Mezzo396 But thanks for showing us one reason America is in endless wars: it has a public like you.
