There are many vaccines. Which one(s) are you talking about?

@jasmino5884 The New York Times just discussed breakthrough cases yesterday. It seems the CDC has proposed not tracking very mild COVID in the fully vaccinated. Many scientists are opposed to that decision.

@revolutionfrommahbed4246 Thank you. I have decided not to have any faith in someone who refuses to say these three little word when they are true: "We don't know." "We don't know yet," a bit optimistic but fine, certainly "We don't know but we believe ______, because ______." I'm good with that, sure. It really is not that tough. Or, it shouldn't be. Huh.

@revolutionfrommahbed4246 I have looked into what vaccines are available where, and outside of a small number of Western countries, almost all others offer only non-mRNA vaccines, or one mRNA "vaccine" (just for shorthand; it's a form of preventative immunotherapy, I know) and two or three non-mRNA vaccines. If it is SO important for everyone to be vaccinated, why do we have a lack of choices in the US? Why is one of those, J&J, known to be flawed? IS it true that China and Russia have produced effective vaccines that are safer? A genuine question - I don't blindly believe them, I want to know. This whole picture is very disconcerting.

@revolutionfrommahbed4246 For an mRNA coronavirus vaccine, the worry among immunologists was immune enhancement. That does not appear to be a problem, which is a huge relief. Chances are that we would have seen it already, although that is still somewhat conjectural. I think overcoming the issue of immune enhancement -- or apparently doing so, so far -- has led to a false euphoria about these medications among scientists. Considering all the people who have been vaccinated, I only hope the vaccines turn out to be safe in all other respects.

Don't blame yourselves. Open mindedness (in advance of the evidence) is cool.

@majdavojnikovic I was talking about emigrating to Montenegro or Belgrade with relatives for years, and was considering it seriously in 2019. After this past year, I'm sure I'm emigrating. BTW, if it is true Sputnik V does not cause the blood clot issue Astra-Zeneca and J & J do (I am a skeptic, but of course open to the evidence), then it's the one I want. I could get it in Mexico.

@gamophyte I'm skeptical of emotional appeals like the one in this video. I listened twice. It's quite foul. No one should be coerced into taking a vaccine that is not fully FDA approved, and everyone should be skeptical about the failure to lift patent protection from these vaccines, which would allow more access for scientific study. People should also be skeptical of the refusal to consider making vaccines from China and Russia available. This IS an international emergency, correct? Then why so cagey?

NYTimes just reported yesterday that fully vaccinated people who develop mild COVID (cold symptoms, basically) will no longer be tracked or counted by the CDC. There is ample evidence those people are contagious, just like vaccinated people with a very mild flu can infect unvaccinated people, who might get very sick.

@gamophyte He's qualified to say that those who take the vaccine do it out of love, like his co-workers have, on his show? Well I guess. Not sure what that has to do with me.

@Truekiller665 Race to the bottom redux.

@nafaidni Did someone listen to ELVIS for their young child's medical care? Oh the irony.
