@vsmith6109 Arrest requires probable cause. Anonymous accusations made to media require persuasive abilities and a calculation by that media on ad revenue likely to be generated by reporting the accusations.

You do notice the advertising continues during Russell's videos. But the revenue sharing agreement is suspended. If Russell is so harmful to the community, why continue to broadcast him and keep all the dough? That sounds pretty harmful to the community.

@suedavis3525 No police report, no report to an attorney (who is an officer of the court), no sworn affidavit, no testimony under oath in a court or tribunal --- an anonymous report to mainstream media, followed by actresses performing while shadowed. Tell me what EVIDENCE you see. By the way, Reade wanted access to certain archives and was denied. She was very naive, and handed in a complaint form without insisting on a photocopy, or a written statement of why she could not have one.

Anonymous, to boot.

@alan8887 No necessarily. The analogy is weak because his YouTube channel does not put him in contact with anyone, and YouTube has no potential liability in the matter whatsoever.

@blue_moon6490 Actually, this is what ownership means. YouTube is an OWNER. They have the gold, so they make the rules.

@run2cat4run So why did he get the channel? Should Mike Tyson not touch a penny from his? You do notice the advertising continues during these videos. But the revenue sharing agreement is suspended.

@googlesucks662 Then why aren't police coming by to arrest you? Oh that's right, no probable cause.
3
@sthubbins4038 But then how is he a danger to the community? Just his ability to profit from his work seems to be dangerous. I feel safer now.
3
@run2cat4run If any of these people's appearance on YouTube is unsafe for the community, why does it come down to money, instead of concern for protecting us from danger?

Hillary Clinton had a good chuckle about Gaddafi.

@Splodnik A person would have to take a close look at the contract he has with YouTube to determine whether it was possibly breached. The discussion Robby and Brie just had was top notch. This may bear some analogy with debanking.

@marcusverschollen9634 No. I hate it, actually.

@daidesign121 So don't watch, and urge others not to. That's the remedy.

No police report, no report to an attorney (who is an officer of the court), no sworn affidavit, no testimony under oath in a court or tribunal --- an anonymous report to mainstream media. Speaks volumes.

@ForeclosureGhost I can appreciate that. Imagine being Google C-suite and how poor that would make you next to Bezos and Musk.

Now that sounds like major trauma. 😅

@ironmonger27 No police report, no report to an attorney (who is an officer of the court), no sworn affidavit, no testimony under oath in a court or tribunal --- an anonymous report to mainstream media, about events taking place a decade ago, and a "documentary" featuring actresses in the shadows, not interviews with the accusers. Where do you see evidence? I see a ratings coup, at least so far. Let's see what real investigations will yield.

@jefferygoines Why should someone have to prove innocence? No police report, no report to an attorney (who is an officer of the court), no sworn affidavit, no testimony under oath in a court or other tribunal --- instead, anonymous reports to mainstream media about something that took place a decade ago, and a documentary with actors, not the actual accusers, in the shadows. This is insufficient for an arrest, much less a demand that Brand prove his innocence. If you actually believe what you're saying, tell us how you got that way so that we can avoid the same fate.

@onepartyroule You can be sure Russell Brand's attorneys will take a close look at that contract. I don't want to imply they will find anything wrong or that YouTube is in breach. (I would take a wild guess and say YouTube can do pretty much whatever it wants.) I simply mean that we don't know his response yet. It may not be so simple, given that YouTube does make serious money from 6 million+ follower accounts.
