Billionaires live beyond humanity's means.
2
@thenerdgirl1 LOL, perfect point.
2
@BenDover-nl8qk Maybe you should Ben Dover. Oh, wait. You already do. Right.
2
@vajukal After the 9/11 attacks, the implosion of the financial sector in 2008-2009, and COVID, anyone who thinks that "doing the right thing" will guarantee your material necessities is whistling in the dark. I know someone who always says that "if you're a good person, bad things won't happen to you." Turns out, three family members are suffering from devastating illnesses at young ages. Major transplants, cancers that are terminal, etc., -- that level of serious.
2
@alphaforce6998 You think people with cancer don't believe in Jesus??
2
WE DIDN'T. MUCH TO THE CONTRARY.
1
@neerajchaudhary1821 Yeah, sure. Can you say, VIETNAM?
1
My family were prodigious savers. Then, a series of major blows: including three family members working for companies that committed Enron-type offenses. Then illness, and serious medical malpractice. And then, COVID.
1
@kurtschlarb9762 HOW many people can withstand a $200,000 hit? How about twice? More to the point, should they have to?
1
@Chris_at_Home You lived modestly? I have a flip phone. And nothing from Apple. When I bought the best Volvo, AWD, I kept it and still have it. It's a 2004, from when Ford owned it. It was my only brand-new car of my life. I don't want more. I do eat organic, though. I cook everything myself to save, but I draw the line at bad food. No way.
1
@Chris_at_Home 2000 square feet? 1,350 is big, no?
1
@aaronoconnor606 A plan that works for at most 10% of people IS NOT A PLAN, YO.
1
@thenerdgirl1 For example, I own nothing from Apple and never have, and never eat at McDonald's or any fast food. We're talking trillions lost.
1
@BOSSDONMAN someone needs to jeer to ahem harden but it is not working . . . 🤣
1
@phattorangecatto Pro tip: don't develop cancer before Medicare.
1
@JTSunriseMusic A few of them did. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, the Clintons, Trump, Bush, the Bidens, Jeffrey Epstein, Jeff Bezos come to mind.
1
@FarFetchedFlorida So, the real joy in having money is to one-up someone else.
1
@patricial.6758 There's always some idiot who jeers and tries to pit people against each other. Making someone else feel small (or trying to) is a national pastime.
1
@patricial.6758 See? You're not supposed to get sick before Medicare! Why did you go and do that? You should have written in your planner, "Patricia, do not get sick. You can't afford that, so forget about it. Live within your means."
1
@BenDover-nl8qk That's your best shot? That? 🤣🤣🤣🤡🌎
1
@BenDover-nl8qk Oh! Thanks! 😍 P. S. Love your screen name. Did you think of it yourself? Are you from Dover, England? How cool is that? English, like the Beatles. Sigh!
1
@BenDover-nl8qk Oh, I'm sorry. You need /s to get it. I forgot.
1
@BenDover-nl8qk I thought you could spot sarcasm without a road map. My bad.
1
@BenDover-nl8qk Uh oh. Decompensated. Okay, I will leave you alone now. Yikes.
1
No one can have cancer before Medicare. It's forbidden in America.
1
@genac4561 This is normal. It happens to millions of people.
1
@jebe4563 liar
1
@BusArch42 You think cancer care isn't enough to bankrupt you?
1
@LeeGordon-fp9zf Our public ambulance starts at $1100, and you used to be taken to the closest hospital. You were given no choice.
1
@rong4733 You love your fellow Americans, huh?
1
@kirbyjoe7484 Now try having a sick child.
1
@cindysmith6833 I had no income one year and my premium was $250 per month, with a deductible in the thousands, I forget how many thousands.
1
@user-gz4ve8mw9l We weren't rich, but it required three major blows to bring us down. Emergencies sometimes came three times per week. I don't even count those.
1
@patrickruvolo8427 No. This is ordinary.
1
@SNESpool Yes, they are more selfish and hateful.
1
@ronrendon Either they had a second mortgage on it and the debt was unsustainable, or they got bad legal advice. A paid-for home of a disabled person is legally protected in various ways. You can qualify for all sorts of aid and keep your home because it is less expensive than subsidized rent.
