@itsokaytobeclownpilled5937 REALLY?? Like, no kidding -- it is used to this day, as a written language. All of my profs in Europe read it.

@weirdlanguageguy Oh, now I see. I had said a version of this earlier -- 2000 years ago, Romans spoke "conversational" Latin. Kids start every language by speaking it, not reading it. Your point is that it is even attested, in the ancient texts, such as in plays, which contain conversations. Seriously! :/
