The four women smiled, waved to the crowd and appeared in front of a banner calling for Palestinian liberation. Where is the interpretation? We may hear later that they were simply being diplomatic. There is no obvious reason to believe they were coerced. Their actions didn't appear to be coerced.

@RickZackExploreOffroad To smile and wave to that crowd? No, I saw no sign of that. We'll see what they say after all the hostages are free. Then they can speak freely.

@danavisalli3467 Silly me! I said they will feel free to tell their story after everyone comes home -- as if Israelis can speak freely. Prominent members of their peace and justice movements have been emigrating for years. Their kids received threats. If they could take it themselves, they can't put little kids through that.

@RickZackExploreOffroad Mia Shem's interview was enlightening. She feared r-pe, for good reason. The threat was communicated to her nonverbally, to control her. However, it didn't happen. Something quite different happened. The more I learn, the more I'm convinced that this is a region that could have found peace. A small number of very powerful people do not want that. They have other plans.
