  1. Why, then, do the systems that demand the most memorization produce the most creative people? Shakespeare was forced to memorize Latin, and was hit with a wooden rod when he made errors. What happened? He rebelled. The point is, who cares what school wants? They pretend to be your friend. Don't be snowed.

Seriously, though, why cite someone whose father was Seattle's top corporate lawyer, whose mother got him his first business meeting with IBM, and whose private high school provided three years of college-level English classes? Why cite anyone who is a rare exception? That tells you nothing about the monetary value of university.

  3. I have a question. Where do people study mathematics, as a major or a (full) minor? Or do they, in the US and UK? Where can someone who is solid but not gifted learn calculus, differential equations, advanced statistics, abstract and linear algebra, real analysis, etc., except at university? They can't teach themselves, or go on YouTube. Well, maybe one in 10,000 actually can.
