@_this Read the actual antitrust case. It gives the history of Microsoft. It's a fascinating read, and a lesson to anyone who thinks dominance in the market is purely a matter of "merit." (Well, the software isn't very good, everyone must know that much by now, and the annual subscription fees for Word, etc., are appalling.)

3:25 I still remember a medical malpractice story I heard from a PhD student decades ago, who was misdiagnosed, sent to a psychiatrist, and could have died from pneumonia. She said, "before this happened to me, if someone had told me that it happened to them, I would not have believed it." Also, the fact that she recovered and moved on was impressive. The antitrust case, which he lost but never paid a real penalty for, the history of Microsoft, the accidents with vaccines, his dishonest support of GMOs, his experiments with charter schools that failed (and many of the schools had to close), the proposal to include microchips in vaccines ("only in places like Africa and India, where record keeping is hard"), and his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, which was closer than he let on at first. The fact that he is nerdy is the reason why he got away with so much. He doesn't seem sinister, just nerdy. That's pretty bad. You should also look at his ultra-extravagant lifestyle. Very strange for someone like him, who is supposedly a scientist at heart.

I frankly do not understanding kowtowing, in the face of all facts and reason. It baffles me. But a lot of people do it to appear rich, don't they? It's a strategic choice. Just like a recent survey showed the majority said they were not less happy today than they were a year ago -- in the midst of a pandemic, thousands dead, social distancing, racial tensions rising, and a looming recession! Why do this? I don't get it. You denigrate yourself by erecting FALSE IDOLS, and saying what you think they want you to say. That, in my opinion, is YOUR problem. You don't need to have that problem. You can ditch it right now.

@_this You forgot about the antitrust violations already, that went unpunished. Not to mention the dubious (though very likely legal) way donations from the Trust are structured to benefit the very corporations whose stock is owned by the Trust. You express attitudes, I deal in facts. You've been told those attitudes could lead to riches. That is sheer propaganda. There is no truth to it, at all. I'm glad we had this discussion. Turned out to be productive.

Listening to Scott Adams now, he is thinks Trump is the stronger candidate. He is less persuasive by far. He is entertaining, though, if you don't take it to heart. He also goes on a wide tangent against teachers in public education, after complaining that the Democrats are failing to tie their points together. I don't think this election can be predicted. COVID changed everything.

Another myth: a general business degree from a mediocre school is more practical than an arts degree from a Top-Three school for that art form. The real rags-to-riches stories I know all involved either the arts or time in the military! I'm shocked, too.
