You haven't noticed they seem to be on a killing spree? This is supposed to be a last resort, to protect life and limb.

@TheAnalyticalFailure The problem is, you are wrong.

Why wouldn't you regret that it was necessary? We don't regret tragedies? I have never met a combat veteran who didn't regret killing. They had to, and did, and would do the same thing under the exact same circumstances. And they are STILL sorry about it. Of course.

We should all be as emotionless as possible. LOL You have the answer for how we should live, that's clear. /s

@TheAnalyticalFailure About the data.

Law enforcement should consider every option besides shooting and killing. Police are not an occupying force.

@TheAnalyticalFailure You sound like you know nothing about it. But I can appreciate your impassioned rejection of bourgeois Anglo-American self-loathing. That should have no place in anyone's life.

@TheAnalyticalFailure I'm afraid not. There has been a recent rise in violent crime overall, in most major urban areas, by those on either side of a badge. There have also been more signs of infiltration of the police by various militia types and white supremacists. There was always a problem of infiltration by all sorts of organized crime types, including the gangs that deal drugs. The issue with the militias, etc., has now eclipsed it. But yes, police use of excessive force has been an ongoing problem as well. Anyway, be prudent. This is a more dangerous country right now. Don't get caught up in tirades and taking sides. It's not in your best interest.

@TheAnalyticalFailure Look up the documentary Do No Resist. (Links might be taken down, since they are so hard to monitor for TOS violations.) It treats the issue of militarization of the police. An excerpt from the director's statement: "My father was an officer for 29 years in a city bordering Detroit and became a member of SWAT when his city formed a team in 1989. What I wasn't familiar with, since my father's retirement from the force in 2002, was the effect the War on Terror had on police work." The director's father came to agree with the film's message.

One would hope. But, you know, people like the money.
