@paulw.woodring7304 Plus you're not in jail because of who your old man is -- the old man had no trouble at all locking up other people's children for the same offense -- who made his career doing it. Who is likely to be president in January. Is this a country or a crime wave?

@AdilMouhammed-zf1br There is no question Hunter used his name and relationship to his father for material gain. The emails, even if authentic, are not evidence that anyone obtained actual access to the Vice President via Hunter. (Who hasn't gotten an email saying, "Thank you for your support!!" This is not much more.) As Glenn Greenwald noted, there are no "bombshells" here. The real story is the censorship. Greenwald is always astute. What we do know is the emails are a basis for raising questions. What Biden does with those questions is up to him, and the voters can then decide whether they care about his evasiveness.

@brentshowers741 We don't know that it's "likely true" Biden did favors in return for Hunter's board position. But someone should be looking.

@Brent Showers I'm not minimizing it. I have huge suspicions, and would never vote for Biden -- or Trump, for that matter. What we already know about Hunter's foreign activities is plenty. But even the story about how the emails were obtained and leaked is strange, and raises questions about their authenticity. You can't draw firm conclusions on this basis -- except to say it is sufficient to call for investigation. Anyone could be setting up either side, looking to embarrass Biden OR Trump.

There is corroborating evidence for things that are stated in the emails, but also reasons to be suspicious of them. Different news outlets are reporting them totally differently. Tech is weird now. Think about it: real emails, videos, etc., could have been hacked, then planted. Fake emails could have been fabricated, but the substance of what they say could all be true -- and if you know it's in a fake email, you might not believe it. There have never been more ways to fake evidence, or to steal it, and to make fakes look real and real things look fake.

@roberts.1604 Can you be serious? I would never vote for Biden. I don't prejudge him here, because we don't have the solid information yet. Would I be shocked shocked were it to turn out that he has been in neck-deep with Hunter since Day One? NO. He is corrupt. He always has been.

@roberts.1604 May I suggest rereading? Because this is TRUE: Tech is weird now. Think about it: real emails, videos, etc., could have been hacked, then planted. @maelstrom2313 Except that I'm not. I'm not suggesting we regard the emails as fake or otherwise unreliable. I'm suspending judgment, and explaining in a more abstract way why tech in general is potentially treacherous -- including the fact that REAL evidence and real information could be made to look dubious. Read it again. I'm not defending Hunter. I think his trajectory is a disgrace, and potentially dangerous to all Americans. Eastern Europe and China are not the new playgrounds of the dissolute rich. I did not need the email dump to know that. The antics of people like him put us all at risk.

@maelstrom2313 In fact, I'll say more: the story (i.e. RUMOR) being circulated right now that "US intelligence" suspects that the Hunter emails are "Russian disinformation" not only IS itself disinformation, but is exceptionally sinister disinformation. Falling so far and SO fast . . . :/ People only care about whose ox is being gored. Very scary.
