  1.  @GreekOrthodox7  Bill Nye is a successful engineer and inventor, and worked as an aerospace engineer before working in media. He is (or was, not sure) CEO of The Planetary Society. "The Science Guy" is not the same as "The Scientist." He doesn't claim to have a doctorate. Could Nikola Tesla be called a "Science Guy?"

  7.  @JustinKrux  Thanks for echoing my point. I mentioned Tesla as an engineer without a doctorate. (The side comment after that was sarcasm. :) Of course someone without a doctorate could be a science guy, a scientist, etc.! And someone without a PhD could be a full professor and have a prestigious chair. Toni Morrison comes to mind, among others.

  17. Nye gave him an answer: absent the acceleration of warming trends that exists due to human activity, the climate today would be as it was in 1750. Can he make a better soundbite? This isn't a documentary, he doesn't have time to give a comprehensive answer.
