  2. Well, we have a result. Looks to me like the jury looked beyond First Amendment law and provable damages to punish wrongdoing, in the proportion they saw fit. If that is what happened, that means we all lost. As usual. This was a shameful spectacle.

  8. A few aspects of the misogyny displayed are similar. Also, both women were blonds who married great wealth. Neither had a pristine character, which all female victims must have.

  9.  @GenXer333  This frankly makes no sense. I have the impression this case was not well tried by her lawyers. (I wonder what they did to fight the absurd venue, for one thing.) I'd have to read the entire transcript to give an informed opinion. The Guardian coverage was outstanding, for a change!
