Not what the Court held in the American case, coming from the baker in Colorado, however. The US Supreme Court sidestepped the core issue, because the baker was deprived of his constitutional due process rights before the state commission that ruled against him. They never gave him a fair chance to make his case. That basically meant that Colorado could not sanction him, given that he never got a fair opportunity to be heard on his First Amendment claim (oh the irony).

@christophereverett2353 No. That's not what the Court held, because it didn't reach the issue. Jack Philips was denied due process, and the denial was considered particularly serious because he was attempting to vindicate his First Amendment rights when the Colorado Commission basically showed their bias against him and refused to give him a fair hearing. That's why it was 7-2; states can't do that to people. If he had won what you said, then the current case would not be before the Court. The law would already be crystal clear. I explained the Colorado baker case in my prior post.

@christophereverett2353 Jack Philips never sued anyone, he was sued.

@christophereverett2353 Who are you talking about? Jack Phillips, the Christian baker in Colorado? There was a ruling against him recently, for refusing to create a birthday cake for a transgender woman celebrating her "rebirth" after her transition. It is currently on appeal, I believe.
