My biggest surprise has been how they've been able to petrify people with COVID. Newsflash: Man is mortal.

I believe there were insurrectionists present on January 6, as well as FBI provocateurs and plants. If we could have an equivalent of the Church Committee, I'd be for that. What are the chances?

"Self-identified followers of the Democratic Party" -- best description I have ever heard, and the most accurate. Who the hell are these people??

I agree with Michael Ratner, Flint Taylor, and Afeni Shakur's views of the FBI.

He ditched the first and embraced the second.

To think they (FBI and Trump) could not possibly be in cahoots strikes me as naive.

Yes. Goodness is rare, evil much more rare, but base mediocrity is so much bigger than anyone with a grain of ethics could ever believe. The mediocre will get you every time.

@XRinger You mean, these folks over 50 have all lived outside the country?

@XRinger I know what happened. The Red Army defeated the Wehmacht, causing close to 80% of all the casualties inflicted on the Nazis in WWII. They themselves suffered the equivalent about 10,000 9/11s on a smaller population base (you see how crazed we were after just one), and yet they produced Sputnik, a Gagarin, and an Arkhipov, all impossible under such a system. I lived in France when PCF was in the coalition government. It was fine. Great quality of life. I know this isn't working. I wonder whether you still count on robots to save you (or slay you.) Something like that. At least we have Facebook and financial engineering, real testaments to human creativity and spirit. You did not expect to read this.

And during the last administration we had the CIA mulling over the idea of assassinating Julian Assange.

@CD He has addressed mandates. You're right that Glenn could say more.

There is ample evidence that the FBI has infiltrated "leftist" organizations, true to form. (See Adam Curtis on Afeni Shakur.) If I can see they likely had provocateurs on the ground January 6, and in plenty of other right-wing actions, why are you blind to the obvious provocateurs present during the riots following the George Floyd protests? The protests, while they were still peaceful, had very wide support. You can figure out the rest, no? You also know what happened to Occupy Wall Street under Obama? Especially by comparison to what happened to Wall Street. This isn't tough.

Or, to put it more briefly, finish your last thought. Amen to that.

Only a short time ago, the California Supreme Court refused to make Yelp remove a defamatory review when the defamed person had a judgment in hand, and could not locate the liable party who posted the defamation to get them to remove it. There was no question that the liable party could be ordered censored going forward -- of course it could not. There was no question that only statements specified in the judgment had to be removed, and they had to be specified verbatim. There was no question that the victorious plaintiff could not locate the defendant. Yelp is too important. $$$ Now, "democrats" want private companies and the surveillance state to censor, no court needed. Wow.

Trump was such a perfect FBI foil you could almost wonder whether he played that role on purpose. After all, it was his DOJ that pursued Assange. And no one questions the FISA courts now. How perfect! It couldn't have worked better had it been expressly engineered thst way.
