You're right concerning how the DNC is "managing" his reputation now, all of a sudden, when he's not convenient for them, but those who were thinking for themselves before this were not fans at all. None of these guys are "fairly normal tech nerds." Musk has some of the worst racial discrimination lawsuits pending against Tesla, is in serious regulatory trouble over primate torture at Neuralink, is selling utter nonsense by talking about colonies on other planets, and has some strange eugenics beliefs that he is putting into practice. Besides all that, he's creepy. If you got rich during the pandemic on Tesla stock, I understand. If not, then I don't. Don't be a lackey.
