You forget that a person with standing to challenge a government act has to bring a justiciable case first, and there are strict rules concerning where the case has to be filed. Glenn explained how that works. If the district court exceeds its powers, there are emergency appeals or even mandamus. No judge reaches out to decide these cases.

And the Supreme Court eventually agreed.

@tangodelta7809 Yes, for a lot of people.

@goes2112 You are being lied to. That's the long and the short of it. Courts were never "after" Trump. People sued him or people prosecuted him. One judge in New York categorically refused to pronounce any sentence whatsoever. Would you be so lucky?

@goes2112 That's not what happened. No court did this. People were suing Trump and prosecuting Trump. One court discharged him with no punishment and wished him well.

@goes2112 No court changed the law. Legislatures did. God, who tells you these things? And why do you believe them? Listen to Glenn. He actually knows, and sees Trump in a more positive light than most people do. The principle of judicial review under Marbury v. Madison is a logical conclusion based on the Constitution. Since then, the entire federal code and rules of procedure are based on it. Therefore Congress agrees with the decision. And Trump liked it when the courts went against Biden.

@goes2112 Btw, did you ever read Marbury v. Madison? Or is it some talking point they're using now? EDIT: Well this thread was already shadowed of substantive replies. Lovely.
