Just found out this guy is a chiropractor. The majority of them are salesmen first and foremost. Seriously, people! He has no special knowledge of the immensely complex fields of neurology, cognition, and psychiatry -- or quantum physics. Sheesh.

Exactly. And you can make bank with pablum like this guy serves up, in lieu of real work. Every retail worker is doing a more important job, as we found out during the pandemic.

@alexlundgren4592 Say what? Gates was from a super rich, well-connected family and graduated from one of the best public high schools in America. They taught elite college-level English the last two years. He chose to leave Harvard (after taking Math 55). You want to compare Gandhi to a YouTube chiropractor? Gandhi always knew exactly what he was talking about.

How do you know that "negative thoughts" should be eliminated? How do you know they are not in any way protective of you? Why do they exist, then? Because we are "broken" and need fixing? Not likely.

@alexlundgren4592 Gandhi went to law school in London, by the way. I'm not sure if he completed the course, or if one needed a diploma from Inns of Court in order to be admitted; it might have been much like when Lincoln studied law privately and then qualified to practice.

@alexlundgren4592 If you don't have to be a neurologist to decide to trust this chiropractor, then I certainly don't have to be to mistrust him. Trust, in this case, is taking a bigger risk than not trusting; that is nothing remarkable. It is often the case under the Precautionary Principle.

Really? I hate Nazis, serial killers, and the Manson Family. But that's just me. I usually don't think of them at all, unless someone bring up how bad hate is and stuff like that and how I better watch out. Then I feel entirely free to say I hate them.

@CwyTy EVERY normal person can tell the difference between a dream, a fantasy, and a memory, and does not think of them or organize them in the same way at all. This is just another glib "The Secret" pitch, which is not a truth about the world but a well-known sales technique, combined with the denial of the reality (and, in some cases, intractability) of real mental illnesses, which are not mere moods. Small example: I was SURE 2020 would be my best year in a decade. I pictured it, and then December 2019 was wonderful, a harbinger -- I thought. This is trivial compared with other tragedies suffered by my family. Good to know, also, that PTSD in our service members is a "state of mind," particularly those who saw their very best comrades die in front of them.
