@TerraPosse The UK certainly does have a higher vaccination rate, and I didn't suggest otherwise. If Germany does, that is a new development. Japan certainly does not, nor does France. Of the major nations Russia is worst. The point is, hesitancy is not solely due to "anti-vax idiocy." Not here, not anywhere. This is one more podcaster making MONEY by fomenting divisiveness, like FOX, Rachel Maddow, etc. This video is politicizing the issue as well. I thought we had privacy in hospital rooms, by the way. I guess that's over, too.

@TerraPosse No, my point was that this video contributes to the political divisions which have been a true disaster here. Vaccine hesitancy has other types of sources in other places, as well as among many people in the US. So, there is more than one reason to have reluctance, and not every reason is bad.

@2FadeMusic Who said any such thing? We were discussing MOTIVATION for being hesitant. The medical mistakes I'm referring to include use of FDA-approved drugs that had terrible side effects for some people, and should not have been used or should have been discontinued. That does NOT mean hesitancy over the vaccine is reasonable. It means that it has zero to do with politics, Trump, anti-vaxxerama, or the people in this video. Your lack of compassion is sure to persuade people to get the shot. /s

@alexusbratva878 The highest proportions of the vaccine hesitant are in minority communities. Do you revile them, too? Do they "owe" society something? Should they take what they believe to be significant risks, to protect you? Are they dumb for not wanting to? More important, does this little video help to persuade them? Or does it alienate them? (I could say "us," based on how my late father was perceived.)

@y.a.994 Everyone I know who is hesitant about being vaccinated has had a life-altering medical mistake in their own lives or their immediate family's. They plan to get the first vaccine that is fully approved. In other words, I simply don't know the people in this video. They're not my friends.

Rational National has no interest in presenting a rational case. I'm not a Weinstein fan, either, but I have found that you can can generally hear more nuanced views from the foreign press. BMJ has good information. Only in the US has COVID been politicized to this degree, and this video just contributed to that. I unsubscribed.

@TerraPosse Every person I know who is hesitant has experienced a life-altering medical mistake. I suppose that is unusual. But I don't know those other people. I don't personally know anyone who refuses vaccinations.

@2DRonaldo I have some more ideas: Fast-track full FDA approval, so that the miniscule number of those seriously injured are told they are entitled to meaningful compensation under the 1986 law, rather than being told they don't count. Medicare for ALL, and universal disability insurance not tied to a job. Other countries do that. Builds confidence in institutions. Just some ideas to knock around.

You just see people wishing death on one another and heaping hate on one another. I knew that if we were to have a pandemic, we'd have a hard time, but I never expected . . . @charmaineespeut4627 This post will almost certainly be taken down fast, but something I noticed since the start, EVERY single white person is trying to scare, shame or bully others into getting the vaccine OR refusing the vaccine. Every Black person wants to have a respectful, rational dialogue. I have found no exceptions. Never seen anything like it.

@charmaineespeut4627 I agree. Well, they love you, so . . . Family is different. My hope is that FDA approval will come quickly. Doing the approval more quickly is justified, because they have the data, they just need to do the in-depth analysis which can be done fast. That way, too, any possible injury will be compensated through the fund set up in 1986. Right now, compensation for any injury is trivial. Of course people don't trust it. It's perfectly reasonable.

Actually, the vaccination release form that every person who goes in to be vaccinated is given tells you that after reading it, you can refuse vaccination and there will be no change in the healthcare you are entitled to. It says so on the form. Look it up. Or, if you are vaccinated, you must have the form.

What's that about? I unsubscribed. I'm not going to contribute to anyone who makes his living like this guy does, by fomenting more divisiveness during a PANDEMIC. This was vile.

@GotAbductedOnce That is never strictly true for any non-FDA approved medicine. It is only when the in-depth multivariate statistical analysis is complete -- which can and should be fast tracked -- will we have a clear picture of risks and benefits to each demographic. You would not be hesitant to vaccinate a 17-year-old son with an mRNA vaccine, or a daughter with J&J? Then you don't have the facts as they appear at present.

Full approval sheds much more light on costs and benefits by demographic, and it scrutinizes closely the data you just accept from MSM. (It was Israel that alerted us to myocarditis and endocarditis in young men. Our media reported it as a fluke.) Who do you think the disproportionately unvaccinated are? People like this guy? No. Minorities.

I agree, even though I'm for vaccination. Moreover, there is no access to meaningful compensation for vaccination injury prior to full FDA approval. I unsubscribed because this podcaster is egging on the haters. His irrational appeal concerning his child really took the cake -- after heaping scorn on others, as if that could encourage more vaccination.

@NickC2001 I was referring to actual vaccinations, not attitude surveys, or self-reporting. The lower rates of vaccination among minorities, and the relative low number of Republicans compared with Democrats and Independents, has been enough to skew the totals, just as I said. Krystal Ball reported on it this week. You can post links, but you didn't read them.

@buffy4500 More politicized, absolutely, but have you been watching French news in the original? But everything is going to have that special viciousness, here. I haven't checked the weekly numbers, but last time I did, Germany had about the same number of fully vaccinated as the US, France had fewer, and Russia far fewer. Japan has very few. Only UK embraced it, but Oxford developed their vaccine. Serbia had an impressive rollout, with a wide choice (three non-mRNA and one mRNA vaccine, see the PBS report on that), but it seems to have stalled. I really did look this up.

@ajpend During the time when delta variant is becoming dominant, it's likely to harm others. Vaccinated, asymptomatic carriers are spreading it, this time to younger people and children. Science. By the way, flu vaccines do exactly the same thing. Vaccinated people might get a mild sniffle, and be contagious to everyone who isn't vaccinated.

@leif5046 I like this summary. Very nicely argued. The absence of any sign that the person is aware of Occam's Razor is also a strong indication of a conspiracy theory. If a simple explanation clearly fails to account for all the relevant facts, a much more elaborate one won't, either. Like pre-Copernican astronomy!

The American ruling class who refuse to lift patent protection and ramp up production, and cooperate with ALL other countries, in a pandemic are the problem. Mexico, just next door, has licensed SIX vaccines, with all three technologies available. Do we even have information on the two Chinese vaccines, which are technologically similar to a standard flu shot? Has Sputnik V caused blood clots like Astra-Zeneca or J & J? Start asking real questions, see if you can get answers. Or, let's hate on these sick people. That's always an option. I can't believe how easy it is to manipulate people. It is weird. It comes as no surprise to me that diversity is merely a slogan to you, which elicits not a thought but a tropism. You don't even see the people in your own country, or know them. In my city, the nonvaccinated are concentrated in the poorest neighborhoods, and are POC. That's true in most cities. And yeah, I did offer to go with people to get their shot, and to check in on them. Of course you didn't. I knew that. Tell me something new.
