This is how it will work: there will be intense economic pressure to do something "with your consent and of your own free will." Failure to do it will become more and more untenable, the ability to quickly prove that you did do it will be essential. You will download the app, of course, or accept a miniscule microchip, which you don't have to present. People will be hurt, only a few at a time, and the rest will whisper to themselves, "whew, that won't happen to me." This is how the perverse becomes normal. Just look around.

Notice that the article came out two days after the 2016 presidential election; it was very likely written before the election and not revised in light of the outcome. It would be interesting to find out.

I know ardent, life-long Republicans who brought Alexa, Siri, and other devices that spy on them into their house. The have children, too. I don't understand.

Wait -- the consumer doesn't have an interest in a car that runs great to 250,000 miles, a washer and dryer that last 30 years . . . ? We need to be stripped of these items in order to incentivize their durability?? The writer is a "global leader" who has no idea why these consumer goods don't last??
