The important question is: what is the result for having contracted an Omicron variant? Is the more contagious variant as likely as the previous variants to cause myocarditis in the young? I hate when the medical establishment treats any of these reports as "definitive," when every one is signal that should result in caution and reassessment.

Well, I see that now, all the people who went along with it are angry at those who don't. I think those who put us through this are thinking, "Mission accomplished!"

@SDesWriter I'm glad. The less risk for everyone, the better. The Swiss Ministry of Health website said last year that one dose of an mRNA vaccine plus full recovery from a proven case of COVID was considered full vaccination. I know the Swiss were not alone, many others said the same, but I don't remember which ones.

France outlawed vaccine mandates and passports for minors (under 18). It's a start. The "far" left coalition led the fight to outlaw the mandates.

EXACTLY

Moderna was also a two-dose regiment, but many countries considered a person fully vaccinated if they had one dose of Moderna plus a case of COVID. Many had that protocol for Pfizer as well.

He's multilingual. He refuses to get vaccinated.

Don't worry, and keep up the great work! You'll be fine. Clean eating is SO important. Also, a lot of people seem to resist this, but there now substantial evidence that vegetarians have less severe COVID. A vegetarian diet may help you as well. I'm so sorry that there's a carnivore craze now, it seems that an all-meat diet is a risk factor for severe COVID. These correlations have been reported in several major journals now.

Great question. Also, are any of these numbers for myocarditis due to COVID infection relevant to the Omicron variants? They appear to make people less sick than the prior variants.

@Manish Mims I do. The pressure was intense. I felt like a hunted animal and I almost gave in as well.

@smiles2spare Excellent point. The actual consent forms and information sheets that you had to sign in order to receive the vaccines, that were written by the manufacturers, were hardly as sanguine as the media pressure and political pressure, AND they said explicitly that if, after reading everything, you decline to be vaccinated, there will be no change whatsoever in your medical treatment. Did you hear that message in the media? Ha!

The data should consider any dose of an mRNA vaccine, one dose or two, and compare it with NO vaccine. That should be a third bar. You're right that the data as presented is not correct.

The claim is that had he contracted COVID, then his risk of myocarditis would have been greater than from the vaccine. A lot of people who took this are now in denial about the error they made. That's normal.

It's easy to find online. The journal is called Circulation, the article is from Aug 22, I believe. I found it pretty quickly, though not on the first line in my search engine.

@jeremiahmud Don't be scared. You are healthier than you think.
1
The comparison is NOT with "base rate," but with rates of myocarditis in patients who had had proven cases of the earlier, more virulent strains of COVID. Base rate of myocarditis is vastly lower than in either of these cells.

@aroundandround Gotten "it?" I think we know by now that different variants of the virus produce markedly different degrees of illness.
