I believe every war that can be avoided must be avoided. As long as there was any possibility of avoiding this escalation of an 8-year simmering war -- an escalation which greatly changed its character -- it should have been used, especially after a pandemic. Having said that, Western paws are all over this one. From what I can see, most Russians more or less agree with this. Most Russians are like most people -- they have to maintain their realism. Americans are the outlier. They cling to their propaganda as though it were a sacred right.

  8.  @wishiwassleeping8382  I found them in the British press right away. The claim is that Putin himself organized the event, which I have no way of confirming or disputing. But there is no question it took place.

  9.  @wishiwassleeping8382  You have to be careful, because some people are recirculating photos from the March demonstrations in favor of the military action and pretending they were in response to the current mobilization. The ones I found were current.
