@MicheleKalina704Life decisions? Lol I don't recall deciding that the financial system should implode in 2008, or that the world economy should lock down in 2020. Or maybe I shouldn't have taken care of my elderly parents. That was a "poor life decision," from a purely financial standpoint. The people who did make "poor" decisions in 2008 and 2020 became phenomenally rich.

@MicheleKalina704Let's start with zero surveillance.

How did people come to believe in utterly baseless things? How?

@outdoorloser4340 That we need to "roll back the state." Every single developed democratic society that is going down this road is convulsive at this point. Not one is viable; every one is fragile, dependent on the global south for its raw materials and basic goods, and in massive, massive debt --- at every level. I wonder what explanation you'll grab when the dollar is dethroned as the single global reserve currency and inflation skyrocks. I wonder who you'll call upon "to do something," and what that something will be.

The aftermath of WWII, and the self-immolation of all potential competitors, is what made the United States rich.

@MicheleKalina704 Do you know who is actually creating pollution and spoiling the commons? Competitors will lie to you in their advertising. How will you know? Every risk is being offloaded: you can't rely on public school, you need private or homeschool; you can't rely on a pension, you have to invest your own money; you can't have access to health care without a "concierge" prepayment scheme and huge expenditures for medication. The same thing happened with the vaccines: the companies who made them cannot be sued, but the individual was mandated to take it at his own risk.
