  1. Have you noticed how often after a mass shooting, newspapers state blandly that "he stopped taking his medication?" The idea, apparently, is that stopping medication was a factor in causing the shooting. If we don't ask what he was taking, why he was taking it, and why he stopped, we know nothing about it, but have been nudged toward the conclusion that he shouldn't have stopped taking his medication.
