  1. Leave the house to pick your own groceries and to walk in nature. Then, try stopping for a coffee or tea and observe others. It takes the focus off of you.

  2. I know exactly what I'd say to that person, because it is what I actually do say: I'd say, "I'm so sorry . . . Is there anything I can do to help? No, I mean it. Let's really think about it. I'm sure there's something we could do." This won't work, me to me. :(
