  6. @anthonywilson4181  "Assault weapon" is a journalistic term for a rifle that is intended to be used in combat rather than in hunting, and is optimized for use in combat. No law restricting such weapons can be vague. Criminal laws generally have to be carefully crafted, or they won't apply. (That's why Kyle Rittenhouse's gun charge had to be dropped: he was a minor, but the law wasn't sufficiently clear that he had to be in a hunting zone during hunting season to legally carry a rifle. This is how criminal laws are supposed to work: they have to be clear and unambiguous, or else no dice.) Needless to say, there are ways to write these laws. (Legislators have to work and stuff, but that's a different discussion.) See? We do know.
