  5. ​@WeekendsOutsideFL These medications are very powerful, and very expensive to develop. They are a godsend to those who NEED them. Unfortunately, four or five times that many people are prescribed the medications. That's the issue. Insulin saves lives. Would you give insulin to someone who needs fewer cookies and more salads? 😒

  6. ​@beverly9 That's ridiculous. It takes great courage to move to a DIFFERENT country. Anyone who can do that is well beyond "normal." I believe in solutions. If I can't thrive and I fail to move when I have the means, then I know that is my fault. I know from experience, even living in France was a huge improvement, and a lot of people in Europe consider France harsh. The pandemic should have alerted everyone to how hard it is to live in the post-imperial English-speaking world. No one else was treated like this, except perhaps in parts of China.

  7. @riskyron1416  I loved France. My mother was a small part French, and she and my father had old friends there. After 5 years there, I came back to the States rock solid. Every year since has been worse in some respect.

And if you have $200,000 to spare from the sale of your home, you can buy a stunning condo near the Adriactic with two large balconies. We are talking about something that costs 5 to 15 times more in the US. No, I am not kidding. Eggplant and arugula are staples; ginger is as thick as your wrist. People buy garlic in those garland-like things.

  18. It could be related to the microbiome in the lower digestive tract. Poor diet and overuse of antibiotics can bring this about, and the worst part is that people who have poor diets are more likely to need antibiotics. So sad.
