  7. Pelosi just appointed Kathleen Rice to chair a committee that AOC wanted to chair, and Rice not only started out in politics as a Republican, but also withheld her vote for Pelosi last time. What does all that tell you? Maybe playing hardball in the health care fight during a pandemic is the right way to go? (BTW, appointing Rice over AOC was a low blow, however you want to cut it. What a snake.)

You have to know your basic chronologies. (The Japanese don't speak German. You know that part, correct? You should read some contemporary accounts, about how close they were to surrender.) If you don't know this much, then leave other people alone to make their own health care decisions. If you trust the vaccine, trust it to protect you against them.

In the meantime, last year the US had record drug overdose deaths. You'd think something would wake people up, but no. Nothing will. Decent people with a chance to leave should consider it.

A patient can always say no. This is the law. Suddenly Biden, who campaigned on stating there would be no vaccine mandates, is pressuring private employers to institute them regardless of industry. It's not his business to exert pressure in any event. He wants others to do what he himself legally cannot do. What happened to HIPPA? What happened to Americans With Disabilities Act? Excessive phobia concerning medicine is a disability. It's not rare, either. Some people had one severe bout of allergy, say from penicillin, and have to be heavily medicated to go into a doctor's office. Dentist, even worse. This is suddenly unfamiliar to everyone? What happened?

  41.  @raymondblake5765  There is no consensus on a number of issues: how long immunity lasts; how well transmission to others is prevented by vaccination, and whether that varies by vairant; whether children under 16 should get vaccinated; whether young men under 25 (or under 30) should get two doses of mRNA vaccines or just one; whether women under 50 should either take Johnson & Johnson or Astra-Zeneca; whether the reported catastrophic illnesses following vaccination are purely coincidental or causally related to vaccination; whether those who recovered from COVID need just one dose, or need to be vaccinated at all. This is what the leading virologists still respectfully disagree about. Even some ministries of health are giving different recommendations (see Switzerland ). This is still early in the pandemic. We need to celebrate the fact that someone, somewhere is doing basic biomedical research without any agenda except to learn as much as possible and give the best possible advice. Instead, the vaccines are being politicized, for no good reason. What a shame. Medical care is supposed to be individualized.

What I had in mind were the people one or two generations behind you, making fortunes as social media "influencers," and in other advertising-related and "infotainment" (i.e., propaganda) fields. The Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, etc., fortunes are essentially that. Even Dore (55 years old) was a bricklayer. People like you, who were born right after WWII and the Great Depression, had entirely different lives, and I know that. Anyway, I do apologize.
