In a society that has had countless mass shootings, you support a minor carrying a big weapon? I want to know who gave him the gun and who encouraged him to get involved.

@ImRicWooo Sheer nonsense. You should be asking how a minor without supervision got his hands on that gun. Who gave it to him? Why? You don't have enough school shootings yet?
2
Two died. You don't even have the numbers straight.

@wiserbud3404 Uh huh. So if someone shoots me, and enough people think I'm a budding criminal, well, good riddance? That sounds about like what I expect.
1
@wiserbud3404 Two died. Thus, there is a living witness.
1
@wiserbud3404 I agree. I would never try to stop anyone I believed was an active shooter. First of all, I could be wrong. Second, and more important, it is not my problem. "Sauve qui peut la vie. "

@negiushegratte982 Which is generally inadmissible.

@eaglerider1826 Lock up people who give minors weapons like that.
1
@eaglerider1826 So, that compares with civilian life? In any event, during WWII in the United States (in stark contrast to the Axis or the USSR), anyone under 17 had to lie to get into the Army, and no one under 18 was supposed to be drafted. If you had no high school diploma yet, you were supposed to turn 19 before you would be drafted.

@eaglerider1826 Did the Republic of Kenosha declare war and emergency conscription?
1
@eaglerider1826 Don't be surprised at the next mass shooting, or the one after that or the one after that . . . I'm not.
1
@eaglerider1826 Right. It is illegal and should be. Weapons used to hunt humans are not hunting rifles. Whoever put him up to this and obtained the gun for him and was nowhere to be found when things got hot for him and his life changed forever, is who I consider the most to blame in this picture, by far. Look. I'm leaving by 2024. You all do whatever you want.
1
@eaglerider1826 And I don't support the government giving 17 year olds guns, or trying them as the adults they are not.
1
@eaglerider1826 The individual states can have reasonable requirements for gun ownership and carrying, open or concealed. The Supreme Court cases that say so are available online. That's why some states, like Texas, have a stringent test for CC permits. That's why a 12-year-old can't buy a gun. That's not an infringement. They can't sign most contracts, either. That's not an infringement. They don't have the exact same First Amendment free speech rights in public school as their principal does. Still no infringement. It's not that tough, buddy.
1
@eaglerider1826 I don't agree with 17 being old enough for the armed forces, though it requires parental consent. I still don't agree. I don't care who does it. You certainly don't see civilian police that age, anywhere. Some places are averse to hiring police before age 23 or 25. They probably have good reasons.
1
@eaglerider1826 At any rate, the Army currently requires a high school diploma or a GED. "I wonder why." /s
1
@eaglerider1826 And what do you THINK that means? Find out what the Supreme Court says it means. That's who gets to interpret it definitively, setting a standard the states cannot go below.

Once he got a shot off, whether in self defense or not, why wouldn't bystanders have a right to try to disarm him? People in the vicinity might think the initial shot was the beginning of a mass shooting. They might reasonably believe they were defending themselves and others.
