  1. I don't understand. In 1950, the US population was 6% of the entire world; today it is about 4%. That is a relative decline of about one-third. In 1950, easily 60% of Americans had an excellent standard of living, and a very good quality of life based in large part on being able to trust that the standard would be stable or would improve, not decline. In 2023, who in the US has that? 10%; 20%, maybe? Not more than 20% since 2008-09, if that many. What about the other 80%+? China's interests today are in Africa, not Taiwan! Compare China's position during the Greek solvency crisis with that of the Western powers (i.e., banking interests). I wish that Peter Zeihan were asked more big-picture questions. He has interesting ideas, I would like to hear how he views these facts.
