  3. Why are serial killers so much more common in English-speaking countries than anywhere else? US, UK, Canada, Australia, and South Africa have the highest rates. Eastern Europe, lower than Western, and developing countries lower than Eastern Europe.

  4. 1. Pinker was disproved pretty definitively. The rest ("evolution," etc.) is a biological version of psychobabble. You can prove anything with those arguments. 2. The women I know who watch crime shows are rooting for the detectives. They watch these shows to remind themselves that the world is a dangerous place, and to learn how to foresee danger and avoid it. Also to see the good guys catch the bad guys.
