When you tell an entire population that it is ON ITS OWN, and that whatever happens to them is their own problem, how do you expect them all to agree to vaccination? If a person is the one in a million who is crippled by it, the social Darwinists will laugh in his face. And if the rate of harm is substantially higher, forget it! No one will risk it. We created this mentality, and it's easy to see how.

Sweden did worse than most of the rest of Europe, per capita. They did not do well for a relatively sparsely populated country, or relative to the rest of Scandinavia. They only did less badly than feared. But they have a more cooperative population.

Just curious: in a world of nearly 200 countries, why is Sweden alone in its approach? What tradeoffs did others choose, and what happened? New Zealand comes to mind for me!
