  1. I'm surprised that a law prof framed the issue this way. She spoke of the tendency of IDF veterans to commit violent acts -- this is imputing a propensity to crime based on some characteristic. The point is that these people committed an aggravated assault and must be prosecuted. Stick to the evidence at hand. Their identity is irrelevant.

  5. @user-xn9zj3yd7u  That wasn't my point. She is a law professor. She made a misleading statement about the law concerning the use of character evidence. What does that do but allow those who want to get her fired a foothold? Is everyone going to be overwrought now? Is emotion the watchword? I have to prove my bona fides? You don't trust that I oppose g____cide unless I pretend she made no error in what she said?

  8. @RedClaw8605  You didn't spot that I was talking about improper use of character evidence, which is a fundamental principle of evidence law? Lawyers are supposed to scrutinize language closely when they state the law. I'm not shocked that they're after her on a tiny misstep. Nothing to do with how I feel about it. Columbia is a disgrace. There. Is that better?
