The opposite is true. If you calculate "excess deaths" using the method typically used for calculating deaths from flu every year, the number of deaths is higher. There is a good REASON to calculate excess deaths: we know mild COVID can cause persistent inflammation that speeds disease processes like cardiovascular disease and stroke. So, we are probably UNDERCOUNTING total deaths.

@TheVuduYuDu I never thought that when lives were at stake, people would still parrot irrational talking points and push magical thinking. Not caring about your own survival shows a high level of dysfunction. I didn't think we were there yet.

@roberttinsley8960 I never joined Facebook. I waste enough time on YouTube now, and I only joined recently because of the pandemic and the shutdowns. Seems like a mistake. :/

@TheVuduYuDu This is scary. In the face of an illness like this, I expected people to pull together and sober up, figuratively and literally. Things are always worse than I suspect.
