Nothing says 'nouveau riche poor taste' like RM.

Yet, you encourage more such videos by watching and commenting...

Agree. With more-classic lugs, I'd buy one and put it on a leather strap.
4
What function do you think that apostrophes serve? Like, what were you thinking when you put a random (and incorrect) one in the middle of 'wants'? Sincerely curious. (Also, what's your first language?)
4
Same. I don't wear mine much, but it's just such a fun watch and a bit quirky.
3
She says it in German with an ⟨ʁ⟩ at the beginning ... It's a special Jenni adorableness <3
3
I think it's more that they don't*, not that they *can't ... which is rather more disappointing.
3
@kojiattwood Nothing like discontinuing a model to get people to want it ;)

The bigger myth is 'keeping track of your oxygen'. We do not have oxygen tanks; we have air tanks. The only people I know of who go down with pure O2 are those using rebreathers. But nobody's directly breathing pure O2 because oxygen toxicity.

@Cooldoggo_3456 Haha, a family friend owned a Cellini for a while and my first thought was 'Holy crap, I've never seen one that someone actually took home before!'
2
100% about being cautious early on about buying from private sellers; better to spend a bit more and risk less until you know what you're looking at / buying. So, regarding selling your watch/waiting for a price: This entirely depends on what you value your opportunity cost of time -- selling for less but spending less time may be a net win.🤷♀ Unrelated: Your nose freckles are the cuuuutest!!!!
2
Some people even advocate for the Submariner to be worn with a wetsuit and regulators ...
2
How so? Other than 'they're both watches', it's not clear that the two have much in common.
1
@csigouin1 Well, Rolex has been Rolex for over 100 years ... Tag was never Rolex even when it was a legit watch brand called Heuer.
1
@cedshred1676 Oh, sure, but Nitrox is usually 31 or 36 ... Not 100 🙃
1
I wasn't impressed by the Sky Dweller until I had one on-wrist: It's a marvel of engineering (and so much better a UX for an annual calendar than the watches that have those stupid recessed pushers that require tools) ... I'd buy a 40mm version (or 38 or 36) at RRP in a second, but the 42 just feels way to chonky.
1
(Who am I kidding: I'd pay market price for a 36mm version.)
1
100% agree about Grand Seiko. I've tried them on in boutiques several times, but they're just too too perfect ... They're missing their Persian flaw.
1
Have you ever seen how nouveaux riches 'carry themselves'!?! There most certainly is a difference.
1
(To be clear: I have met many self-made people who are kind and humble and understand noblesse oblige ... But, sadly, they tend to be the exception.)
1
I impulse bought one of these the other day; I love it ... One thing to consider: There's no micro-adjust for the bracelet ... meaning that you can only get it approximately the right size -- if it fits when it's cool, it'll cut off circulation to your hand when it warms up; if it fits when it's warm, it'll be a bit floppy when it cools down. But the watch is surprisingly nice for how inexpensive it is.
1
@tongotongo3143 Well, most people don't even care about watches at all (i.e, don't want to buy them at any price). And this is relatively inexpensive/great! Just wore it today co-incidentally.
1
@tongotongo3143 Good thing money exists, then, so we can incentivise them to take actions that align with our interests as necessary 😜

Anyone wearing a dive watch with no crown guards is clearly part of the non-divers cosplaying as divers stolen-valour industrial complex.
1
Soooo, frankenwatches?
1
Where do you think literally every atom on Earth came from!?
1
Or... Just buy both!?
1
Nothing has any intrinsic worth. The value of anything is strictly a function of belief. Kill all humans, and nothing is 'worth' anything ... and we lizards inherit the Earth.
1
... again.
1
I can't imagine actually trying to use a Crazy Hours to tell time ... But they're so damned fun to play with!
1
Hot take about the Submariner: WTF are you wearing a dive watch for if you're not a diver? It's like walking around wearing surgery scrubs for the lulz.
1
First scratch is the best: Ah, sigh of relief, f it, I can enjoy the watch and not worry about scratches any more!
1
@ChrisJones-ki2bx Yupe. I've had a computer fail underwater (depth sensor totally failed and my comp went bonkers) but never my watch.
1
The way you say 'Rolex' makes ur girl ... excited 🤷♀️❤️
1
It's identical to the reason that people would mock someone for slapping a Ferrari body kit -- even if it says 'Burei' and they claimed that it was an homage -- on a Camry.
1
We may have missed an opportunity ... but Rolex seem to be doing just fine.
1
@kojiattwood Rolex hitting us with that 139-d chess!
