  1. So many of these arguments are just false dilemmas / needless tribalism / porque no los dos cases ... I regularly use Emacs and Vim and VSCode and about a dozen other editors for specific things. (Fun fact, you could just use dd for all your editing needs: After all, you're just poking bytes around.) You almost never have to choose exactly one tool. It's not a zero-sum game.
