Well, I think it's a matter of either: 1) Minimising the number of OS re-installs -- to reduce aggregate annoyance of the whole process -- or 2) dramatically INCREASING the number of re-installs -- in which case you'd get annoyed enough to automate / script up rolling out your installation.

@theodorealenas3171 I don't do it for my physical boxes, but I have a VM where I run all of my tests ... and it's fully redeployed every week ... which at least gives some confidence in the setup scripts. I do like the idea quite a lot of: Run backup; offload backup to another machine + cloud; autoreformat / blow away state; reprovision bare-metal OS install; copy backup back; run setup scripts. What could go wrong!?
