Eating in cars is a truly-odd Americanism. I've even heard that there are tables that can be clipped to the steering wheel for this purpose!?

@jeffhampton2767 My understanding is that it's more extensive than this: Eating snacks during so-called 'road trips', drive-in 'restaurants' and cinemas, and I've definitely seen people eating whilst driving alone ...

@jeffhampton2767 It's just very strange. I eat at a table, and I don't consider meals to be wasting time. Take-away coffee also seems very strange to me -- I don't want to drink out of crap single-use cups. Also, it's 'doughnut'.

@jeffhampton2767 Precisely my point: People in the US tend to have rather unusual priorities ... And, you can blame your poor technology, or you can take some responsibility and proofread🤷‍♀

@jeffhampton2767 I'm happy to learn that you don't care; I'm pointing out that it strikes me as an odd and oddly-American quirk. And driving for 10 or 15 hours also strikes me as oddly-American: In the rest of the world, we have jets and trains.
