  1. This is a very procedural / mutable perspective ... Writing Haskell or Coq or Agda doesn't feel like any of that.

  2. Anyone who's a competent computer scientist can learn any language. I wouldn't hire someone because they happen to know some language or not-hire someone because they don't ... Languages can be learnt ... ability to actually think seems to be far less teachable.

  3. Knowing / advertising / caring about some particular language / framework -- e.g., JS and React -- seems to be applicable more to the 'coders' who went to some 'boot camp' or other ... who are absolutely not computer scientists.
