It is deplorable behavior but the problem is inciting rage and hatred and dehumanizing them. In this video he talks again again about destroying them and about how they deserve hatred and rage, that's always going to be a first step towards violence and it is as unacceptable as the things they are saying.

@daviddaniel7750 I know that, but I thought we were supposed to be the good guys? If we are inciting the same kind of hatred and anger, in what way are we offering a better alternative? Understand, I detest Fox and everything it stands for but dehumanizing and inciting hatred doesn't seem to be the right path. If they throw red meat to their supporters, and we criticize that, why are we doing the same thing?

@wyattb.5085 Unfortunately the values that they hold are held by a large contingent of our population. To say that the things that they believe belong to a small percentage of Americans is an error. There are the older people, there are the middle aged people, and there are those living in the heartland who do not subscribe to liberal ideals. That is a large plurality of the population. And I know that he added that caveat, but the violence and the heat in his words belied the caveat. And it is throwing red meat to the base here to talk about destroying and defeating people with that much anger in your voice. Look, I hold these people in distaste and I detest what they stand for but I know that there are reasons for their beliefs, and I try to have compassion for them even while I work against what they believe in. If you look at some of the comments here there's one guy who's talking about waiting for violence. I don't want us to do that, I want us to be decent and to work for a better world while guarding carefully against damaging ourselves and others.

@datniggami7 This is a problem. You want to engage in violence, you want an excuse for violence. In what way are you any better than they are? You have the self-awareness to know that you're ready for it and you want to use it as an excuse to vent all of the rage and frustration that you feel.

@daviddaniel7750 it worries me that you've gotten five upvotes. I know exactly what fox followers think, but you being willing to meet them on that field is concerning. What is a solution in your view? We just all fight and blow everything up and engage in an orgy of violence? What exactly does that do to solve the real problems that we have in front of all of us? I find them contemptible and detestable in their views but they are human beings and there are reasons for them thinking the way they do. I struggle to maintain compassion sometimes but I keep struggling because I know there are reasons. If you were of their generation you would probably think the same way and I would try to have compassion for you too.

@grayforester I didn't know he had passed away. I'm very sorry. We do need a political response that will overwhelm the right, I agree completely. I didn't like some of the things Michael said or how he said them but now in light of his passing that is trivial. I'm sorry for his loss, the loss to his family and the left community.

Just stop it. Just stop calling them disgusting time and time again, you know what you're doing, you have to be aware that it is a dog whistle for your supporters. You show a grossly overweight unappealing white woman, and older white man and you call them disgusting, you talk about destroying them, you incite anger and rage. I hear you carefully walking it back, I hear you saying on a political and power level after you have said destroy them and destroy them and destroy them and they are disgusting, you know what you're doing and it is as bad as what they are doing. They are ignorant, they are afraid, and they are terribly uneducated. What is your excuse for inciting rage against them? What is your excuse for the pious self-satisfied virtue that you are displaying? Let's be very clear, I am 100% on our side politically, but this display is abhorrent as theirs is. It's very easy to incite rage by showing an obese person eating in a diner and not showing sympathy for undocumented immigrants. If you have to garner support by mocking someone and tearing them down viciously by referring time and time again to their appearance, then you lack substance and decency. Attack their positions, not their persons. When you do this you turn people off and if you don't, if the people you are throwing red meat to enjoy it, don't you understand how easily they can be turned? Inciting rage and hatred is never the better way forward. You are so steeped in self-satisfied rage and what you believe to be justified hatred that you don't see these people as human. If you hate them so much how are you different from Trump and his ilk? Dehumanizing people is always going to be a first step towards violence. You've taken this much too far and you are absolutely in the wrong for doing so.
