I disagree. The media isn't trying to divide us. These are things we have to be aware of in order to fix. They can't be papered over or ignored because if they are they'll flare up again at the first opportunity. Think more carefully please.

You're deeply wrong and I think you know that you are. PBS isn't trying to divide us. This is a serious problem. We had a malicious white nationalist as president and he emboldened his supporters to kill terrorize and commit mayhem. Ignoring it won't make it go away, only addressing it will. If you are one of those supporters, you would do better to educate yourself and try to become a better healthier person.

@lanam.3386 You are deeply wrong and you have to know that you're deeply wrong. I am Jewish myself, I'm an attorney I pay close attention to the news. I have seen many Trump supporters chanting Jews will not replace us. Please, for God's sakes, educate yourself and stop pushing a false narrative. You do harm to our country when you do this.

By radical left, you mean people who believe that we are all equal and entitled to the same opportunity? The radical left, you mean those who think that healthcare should be a human right, that a living wage should be paid for a full-time job? That radical left? in this country I guess you might call that radical. In every other nation on the planet that would be the center. Please push your agenda somewhere else. The issues that we have will not be resolved by ignoring them or pretending that it is the fault of the so-called radical left.

Those of you complaining that PBS and the media are trying to divide the country, please stop and think more clearly. These issues are not going to disappear by ignoring them. There are deep problems in America that have to be addressed. If we pretend that all of this is over and done with because we have a sane president, they will flare up again at the first opportunity. There are deep-seated reasons for the hatred and rage. Neither party has prioritized education, health care, a genuine living wage for everyone. Unfortunately many working class white people in this country view the progress and gains of minorities as at their expense. They view progress as a zero-sum game. That and a lack of education, the deprioritization of critical thinking skills, has created a dangerous situation. We have to address this on several fronts. We have to fix the social safety net, ensure that people who are working can live a life of dignity. We have to prioritize education and do our best to inoculate people against manipulation.
