  1. My cat is also 16. My bed isn't that high, about 29 inches but he is starting to struggle with it. He'll stand on the floor and cry until I pick him up and that always makes me feel sad. Also, it wakes me up in the night. Ibought a big ramp set it on the side of the bed and he walked up and down at once and then refused to use it. Then I got some soft padded stairs that I put at the foot of the bed, I saw him sitting on the second stair the other day and I coaxed him up to the bed. We'll see If he keeps using them, but for anyone in a similar situation try different things if the first thing doesn't work, try something different.
