@vonsuthoff I do have a problem with most people owning guns. I was born here in the US. My father owned a rifle and pistol range. I grew up with guns. I lived in another country where guns were common and everyone went to the military at age 18. I understand guns. But in this country where guns are romanticized and mental health issues are legion, guns in the hands of most of the population is a bad idea. Why do most guys feel that they need a gun? Do the majority of them hunt for sustenance? No. They like it because "America" and "Masculinity" and that is the problem. Guns are a tool with one use; to kill more easily than you would with a different tool. Why do many people feel the need to have tools to kill if they aren't hunting? Let's look at the rate of "accidental" death from guns (and at intentional death too) and at healthcare and mental health and all the many issues other countries have resolved far better than we have. As we are right now with all of the ignorance and the culture that promotes ignorance, guns are a bad idea.

Thank you. This country would be in much healthier place if more men (and women) were able to take your perspective. Violence and guns are glorified here. It is also a problem that a man has to have a military background in order to be taken seriously when he advocates for love over war. If you didn't have the background that you do, they would look down on you and call you an ugly term, the one guys like that use to denigrate women or men they perceive to lack sufficient bravery. These are the same people who view crying as something only women do. Who themselves have been damaged emotionally and continue to perpetuate that cycle. I tried to have compassion for them because they are victims also but at times it is very difficult to hold on to that.

@Curly whirly I think this is more of the same kind of mindset. Men going off to war! Being led by a strong leader who rallied the troops and get their guns and go fight! We are past that point or we should be. There is no longer a need to grab our guns and go off to war behind the strong male leader. That is a staple of not very well written fiction, historical. It wasn't entirely accurate than it certainly isn't an accurate now. Also women go to war also. Welcome to the 21st century.

mellow 5.56 I'm sorry but you need help. The anti-Semitic dog whistle removes any obligation I might have had to treat you with courtesy.

C F You know why obesity exists in minority communities? If you think it is because they're making the choice to eat poorly, you're wrong. I don't want to go into a whole long explanation if you already know the answers. Poverty is the first reason. It is far more expensive to eat healthily than it is to eat shelf stable unhealthy food. Cheap carbs are cheap. Many minority communities live in food deserts where fresh food is extremely difficult to get and overpriced. Time is another issue. If you have more leisure time you can do food prep and research and make delicious vegetable and healthy protein-based dishes. If you're working two jobs and barely keeping your head above water, you're not going to buy broccoli, avocados and Brussel sprouts that require time and knowledge to make them into something delicious. It is the kind of one two punch that is devastating because each problem makes the next one so much worse and then disease makes it even harder with our lack of health care.

It would probably be better to avoid legitimizing Bannon to the extent that you have by providing him with a platform to broadcast his views. I know that this is the kind of content that will get clicks but you are nonetheless not doing a public service by platforming him.
