@dedreik9982 I don't think the person you are arguing with is willing to understand what you're saying. He is too invested in believing that if someone is hungry it must be due to some lack on their part. I wanted to add more because I had responded the same way and then saw your response, but it's late. Keep trying to share good information. Even if very few are open to thinking about it, it will make a difference. Slowly, but it will make a difference.

@nomaderic This is pure rubbish and it offends me to read it. It has absolutely nothing to do with lawsuits. Supermarkets destroy food out of greed and the fear that people will take it and not buy the food. Eggs, milk, frozen food, one day past their "best buy" date are thrown out and bleach poured on it to make it inedible. There are laws protecting businesses from lawsuits resulting from donated food being eaten. I'm an attorney, I can cite laws from every jurisdiction should you require them or spend some time and do your own research. I'll reiterate, the destruction of food that could alleviate hunger has nothing to do with lawsuits. The primary reason supermarkets throw the food out and go further than throwing it out, rendering it inedible, rather than allowing people to take it, is greed. The underlying principle of our economy.
