Why would you want to adapt a lower fat diet? Healthy fats are what we are meant to eat. Likewise, salt is a problem. Fats are only an issue when they are eaten together with highly processed carbohydrates and sugar. You can happily eat an entire avocado, or half an avocado and a couple of pasture raised eggs cooked in butter. That can be your brunch and then 6 hours later you can have a light dinner before starting your 18-hour fast for the day. We really don't have to learn to love plain broccoli. It is genuinely fine to enjoy butter, cheese, eggs, wild caught salmon and so on.
This is entirely unreasonable. Yes, salt makes your food taste better. He is advocating for food to taste worse so that people eat less of it. No, we are meant to take pleasure in eating. It is entirely possible to enjoy your food and not overeat. It is possible to cook good healthy food and enjoy it responsibly. If you overeat, well then you do a longer fast. Dr Jason Fung addresses this very issue. He went on a cruise with his family, he ate with his family and found himself eating too much. He got home and he did a fast for a week. As humans we have evolved for feast and famine. It is okay to enjoy what you are eating and then it is equally okay to not eat. We don't have to be gray. We don't have to exist eating tasteless joyless food less we enjoy it and eat too much of it. This entire discussion is depressing, I'll stick with it and revise this comment if appropriate.

@martykerns3802 The idea that eggs have cholesterol and are bad for you was never correct and has been debunked. I don't know what you're reading, but if what you are reading is telling you that eggs are something to be avoided, you're not reading good or useful information.
Pasture raised eggs are rich in omega-3s and have more vitamin A and E than conventional eggs. The protein and fats in eggs make them an almost perfect food.
When I break my fast with a couple of eggs, spinach, tomatoes, half an avocado and a piece of home baked almond cracker I'm eating a meal that will heal me and sustain my body. I'm eating real food with minimal carbs, nothing processed, no inflammatory oils. A reasonable amount of protein, healthy fats and vitamins.
People who have serious conditions need good nutrition. Of course this will vary from person to person depending on the problem they have, but the idea that saturated fat, cholesterol and animal protein are bad has been debunked. It was never correct.
I can share some of my sources if you want. I'm very curious to know what you're reading that is telling you to avoid healthy whole foods such as eggs.
